Footprint diagrams from the doctoral thesis of Gilles de la Tourette (1885) entitled Etudes Cliniques et Physiologiques sur la Marche.  This student work analyzed normal gait as well as the walking patterns of patients with Parkinson’s disease, locomotor ataxia, Friedreich’s ataxia and numerous neuropathies.
